The project relates some images I made in the Sarawak forest with extracts from a book written by the Italian botanist Odoardo Beccari who made many expeditions in the area at the end of the nineteenth century. "In the Forests of Borneo. Travels and research by a naturalist" is a book full of suggestions and descriptions where, together with fascination and wonder, we also find the fear, the awe, the fatigue and the difficulties that Beccari has endured during the visit of the primordial forest. To these words I have associated images I made after more than a century where I am confronted with the same contrasting emotions that a visit to that area causes. The theme of the series is therefore the relationship with an uncontaminated nature.
