Made in California in 2013, these photographs began as fragments of a landscape and gradually became an investigation into the instability of its representation.

Presented here as raw material, the images remain separate from the form they later assumed in the book. There, sequence, scale, white space and the edges of the page become part of the work, questioning the possibility of containing the images — and the landscape itself — within a stable form.
